TRANSITION INTO ZEERUST FOR CHILDREN COMMENCING FOUNDATION IN 2018
RISK MANAGEMENT STRATEGY
Our child safe risk management strategy is here.
The children need to bring a swimming costume, goggles (if they have them), a towel, a plastic bag for wet things, and a pair of crocs or flip-flops. We will travel by bus. Parents are welcome to watch, and may collect their child[ren] after the session. We usually swim in Term 2 but check the newsletter for details.
Regular attendance is one of the major factors contributing to student wellbeing and success at school. Parents have a responsibility to ensure that their children attend school regularly and are only absent if ill or if it is absolutely necessary. If your child is away from school at any time, a brief note or phone call is required. Advance warning about extended absences would be appreciated.
Eligibility for bus travel is determined under departmental guidelines. See here. This will take you off site to the DEECD webpage. There is a daily school bus route, which is coordinated by Tallygaroopna Primary School.
Please consult the Principal of Zeerust PS for more details.
BUSSING IN 2018
Free travel on our school bus is only available to new Zeerust students if we are their closest school 'as the crow flies'. A grandfather clause applies where current travellers are unaffected.
We share a bus with Tallygaroopna, and if it was your closest school, then you will be entitled to free travel to them, but not to us, even though the bus route passes our school first.
You must live more than 4.8 km from the school to be entitled to travel on an available school bus.
